About me
I'm currently a Project Researcher in Mathematics (postdoc) at the Kavli IPMU, University of Tokyo. Before coming to Japan, I was a postdoc at Heidelberg University, where I worked under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Anna Wienhard.
I earned my Ph.D. in Mathematics at the University of Illinois Chicago, supervised by Prof. Laura Schaposnik. Before that I studied at the University of Waterloo, double majoring in Pure Mathematics and Computer Science.
Recently I'm interested in $G^\mathbb{R}$-Higgs bundles, higher Teichmüller components and branes. Broadly speaking I am interested in understanding the geometry of Higgs bundles and flat connections on Riemann surfaces.
I like badminton, coffee, books, films, and Go/Weiqi/Baduk.
"Meng-Xue" roughly sounds like "MUNG-SHOO-EY". It means "dream-snow" in Mandarin.
Fun fact
I have been practicing Ikebana with Yukari Ito sensei. Enjoy, sunflowers in Slanted Shape!
